HOW TO: Change SMTP IP Address
Posted by Asilah A. on 15 August 2023 05:52 PM

The /etc/mailips file controls the IP address from which each domain sends mail.

1- SSH into the server

2- Use 'nano' as per below or any text editor such as 'vim' to edit SMTP IP Address:

# nano /etc/mailips

3- Edit accordingly

Note: the *: in the file refers to all domains. Meaning all domains will use that SMTP IP. Below example will only change SMTP IP to one domain

4- Save the file and restart exim service as per below command:

# service exim restart
